We stayed in Takayama several years ago in a traditional ryokan. It was such a wonderful experience. We were lucky enough to be there in spring though we only caught the end of the cherry blossoms (it was like soft snow falling without the wet and cold) but we did get to watch the spring festival and those magnificent floats going through the town. Can’t wait to go back!

Hi Syui! Yeah, I just want to get a picture of shirakawago with snow…and that’s it! 😀 I know that the winter in Hokuriku area is SUPER cold… which I’ve never experienced before living in Kanto area. 🙂 I’ll work on Part 2 soon, after posting this recipe that I’ve been working on… 🙂
